Sally M. Lightcap Schroth, 69, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017. She was born in Reading, daughter of the late Roy L., Sr., and Ann C. Husson Lightcap. She worked as a teacher’s aide for Head Start before her retirement. She was a member of Ironville United Methodist Church and a graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1966. Sally enjoyed cooking, spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchilden.
She is survived by two sons: Todd M. (Brenda) Lightcap, Sr., Columbia; and Douglas W. (Leanne) Nogel, Mechanicsburg. Five grandchildren. Three great-grandchildren. Two step-grandsons. Two brothers: Roy L. “Sonny” ( Stephanie J.) Lightcap, Jr., Mount Joy; and Kenneth E. (Stephanie A.) Lightcap, New Baden, IL. Two sisters-in-law: Mable Lightcap, Columbia; and Mary Jane Lightcap, York. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers: Mary Anna Wertz; Beverly Ann Lightcap; Joanne Fetters; Albert R. “Butch” Lightcap; and William E. Lightcap.
The Memorial Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth Street, Columbia on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Charles A. Deutsch, officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Please omit flowers.
