Ruth E. Blount

Ruth E. Blount, 86, of Mountville, received an offer from Heaven that she couldn’t refuse, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Conestoga View. She was the wife of the late Nolan L. Blount who went to Heaven in 2005. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Ernest H. and Hazel M. Puridy Baisch. She worked as an assembler for KD Tools for many years before her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed going to garage sales, her family, including her children and grandchildren, and her flower beds. She was an animal lover, especially cats, and was a very giving person to everyone, including family members and strangers. Ruth had a great personality, was the life of the party and made everyone laugh. She will be fondly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by two sons: Nolan S. (Julie) Blount; and Scott A. Blount, all of Columbia. One daughter: Susan L. (Dang) Warner, Lancaster. Three grandchildren: Ashley, Steven, and Paige. One brother, one half-brother, and five half-sisters. She was preceded in death by one son: Roger L. Blount, one brother, one sister, and one half-sister.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Silver Spring Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Please omit flowers. Ellwood C. "Woody" Graves

Ellwood C. “Woody” Graves, 83, of Mountville, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the husband of Jan L. Cluley Graves, with whom he celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2018. He was born in Lancaster County, son of the late Ellwood C., Sr. and Lavina J. Alspach Graves. Woody was a precision machinist for Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster Floor Plant, for 41 years. He was a member and firefighter of West Hempfield Fire and Rescue for 37 years, where he served as assistant chief and was treasurer for 35 years. He enjoyed model trains, his computer, and Summers at the shore. He was also an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife, one son: Rick (Leilani) Graves, Mount Joy. One daughter: Jennifer (Kevin) McKenna, Phoenix, AZ. Two step-daughters: Kenda M. (Mark) Galipo, Harrington, DE; and Gayle J. (James) Malloy, Magnolia, DE. One grandson: Randy (Gwen) Graves. Four granddaughters: Amber Mabrey, USN; Brooke Mabrey; Madelyn Galipo; and Autumn Galipo.

The Firefighter’s Memorial Service will be held at West Hempfield Fire and Rescue, 3476 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 12:00 Noon.
