Harvey M. Hostetter, 94, of Lititz, formerly of Manor Township, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, December 29, 2017 at Landis Homes Retirement Community. He was the husband of the late Mary L. Hollinger Hostetter with whom he shared 64 years of marriage before she passed away in 2010. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Christian M. and Stella Mowrer Hostetter. He was self-employed for many years as a poultry and egg farmer. Later he worked at Lancaster Container, Washington Boro and for Keagy’s Produce Market. Mr. Hostetter was a life-time member of Habecker Mennonite Church. He and Mary enjoyed volunteering at Teen Missions in Merriott Island, Florida; the Re-Uzit Shop, Columbia; the Mennonite Home; and Landis Homes. Harvey made friends wherever he was and will be remembered for his friendly spirit and sense of humor.
He will be lovingly missed by his family, three daughters: Helen, wife of Glenn C. Hershey, Gordonville; Carolyn, wife of Gerald E. Martin, Ephrata; and Kathy, wife of Douglas W. Mast, Ephrata. Daughter-in-law: LuAnn Hostetter, Mountville. Nine grandchildren: Corinne (Mike) Denlinger; Dwayne (Viviana) Hershey; Jason (Kimberlee) Hershey; Tim Hershey; Angie Martin; Darren (Jewel) Martin; Ryan (Carissa) Martin; Gretchen (Jon) Thomas; and Josiah Mast. Twenty great-grandchildren. One great-great-granddaughter. Four sisters-in-law: Jean Hostetter; Ruth Hollinger; Kay Hollinger; and Lois Hollinger. One brother-in-law: Willard Stauffer. He was preceded in death by one son: David E. Hostetter. Infant daughter: Linda Hostetter. Siblings: Elizabeth Nissley; Dora Heisey; Miriam Breneman; Esther Myer; Mary Lefever; and twin brother, Harold Hostetter.
The Funeral Service will be held at WEST Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. Private Interment in Habecker Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at the WEST Bethany Chapel from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
