Debra Douglas-Elek, 74, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Providence Place. She was the wife of Bela Elek whom she married on April 23, 2011.
Debra was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Gene C., Sr. and Emma V. Lewis Douglas. She was an admission clerk at Hershey Medical Center for 23 years, before her retirement in 2010.
Debra loved her family, especially her grandchildren, sewing, traveling, and going to the beach.
She is survived by two daughters: Angela M. (Mike) Leese, Mount Joy and Heidi A. Stewart, North Port, Florida. One son: Walter J. (Jessica) Harman, Lebanon. Four grandchildren: Joshua Leese, Daulton Leese, Allison Harman and Isaac Harman. Two sisters: Sherry Douglas (Jennifer Eck) and Jeanne Douglas. Also, numerous nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Gene C. “Butch” Douglas, Jr. and Greg Douglas.
