Bruce R. Snyder, 85, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Margaret L. Stroppel Snyder, who passed away on December 11, 2022. Bruce was born in Columbia, son of the late Bruce and Mary Sourbaugh Snyder.
He worked as a machine operator/supervisor for Thomson 60 Case, for 42 years before his retirement in 2002. Bruce enjoyed horse racing, slot machines, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He coached baseball for CBAA and Joe's Steak Shop baseball team. He played baseball for the Columbia Blazers and the Pioneer Pirates.
Surviving are his children: Terri R. Weaver, Columbia; Bruce F. (Stephanie) Snyder, Hellam; Robert S. (Lisa) Sadden, Columbia; Angie R. (Byron) Germer, Columbia and Winfield Stroppel. Six grandchildren: Samantha R. Nell; Amanda L. (Bo) Campbell; Vanessa A. (Bobby) Reese; Byron J.F. (Heather) Germer; Brittany (Brandon) Cadwell and Tyler A. (Fiancée: Jenna DePhillips) Germer. Eight great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by one son: Joseph Lee Snyder, one brother: Paul Snyder, and one sister: Candace Kauffman.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth Street, Columbia, on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. The Viewing will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
