Judith A. Goretzke, 81, of St. Anne’s Retirement Community, formerly of New Danville and Mexico, Maine, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Jere F. Goretzke, Sr., who passed away on April 15, 2021. She was born in Mexico, Maine, daughter of the late George W. and Mary Anna Balcunas Downes.
Judy worked for the US Navy in Washington, DC and later as a trust officer for Wells Fargo Bank. She also worked in the cafeteria at Marticville Middle School.
She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and going to Maine to see other family members. She also enjoyed going to the camp in Huntingdon County, and being part of the community, helping with the New Danville Fire Company and the Ladies Auxiliary, traveling and going to the theater.
She is survived by one daughter: Joy L. (John R.) Wigahaman, Lancaster. Two grandsons and one granddaughter. One brother: George (Margaret) Downes, Orchid Beach, Maine. Sisters: Marie and the late Vincent Caruso, Rumford, Maine; Pauline (Wentzel) Downes, Mexico, Maine and Ann Downes, Seabel, Maine. She was preceded in death by one son: Jere F. Goretzke, Jr.
