Harold S. Groff, 85, formerly of East Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Harmony at Hershey. He was the husband of Patsy Bear Groff with whom he celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2026.

He was born in New Danville, son of the late Ira C. and Lillian H. Stauffer Groff. Harold worked as a carpenter for Clifford Denlinger and Nauman Construction before his retirement. He was a founding member of Hope Born in Christ Church and enjoyed going to his cabin, “Bears Den” at Red Point Beach in North East, MD. But most of he enjoyed his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, his children: Darlene J. (Kent D.) Tyson, Middletown; Delores J. (Michael G.) McCarter, Collegeville: Randall S. (Lisa M.) Groff, East Petersburg and Michael B. Groff, East Petersburg. Michele Horn and Elaine Heckrote, daughters-in-law. Foster Dad to Julie Braun and Charlie Horn. Fresh Air dad to Belinda Agusto, JoAnn Medina and Barbara Marrero and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Robert S., Donald S., Ira S. and Richard S. Groff, Hunter Groff (grandson), Dan Gulick (foster son) Anna Marrero (Fresh Air Family).

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hope Born in Christ Church, 2600 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 11:00 A.M.
