James R. Bitzer, 83, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at home. He was the husband of Rory D. Reisinger, to whom he would have been married for 42 years on October 23, 2026. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late James Edward and Mary Nagle Bitzer.
Jim was a pressman for RR Donnelley & Sons for 42 years before his retirement. He was a graduate of Hempfield High School, Class of 1961 and enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking and golf. Jim was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan. He enjoyed cats, especially his cat "Charlie".
Surviving in addition to his wife, one daughter: Jamie L. Bitzer, California.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. The Viewing will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Interment in Bowman Cemetery, Ephrata with Full Military Honors. Please omit flowers.
