Jean Irene Bortner Klinefelter, 89, of Landisville, entered peacefully into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Masonic Village. She was the beloved wife of the late William Albert "Bill" Klinefelter. They were married on December 24, 1954 and shared more than 64 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2018. Together they built a loving home, centered on faith, family and devotion to one another.
She was born in Glen Rock, daughter of the late Levi E. and Effie Kessler Bortner.
Her greatest joy was found in faith, family and the love she shared so generously with others. She was a follower of Jesus and was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, she was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Jean was a graduate of Susquehannock High School, Class of 1954. She found great joy in spending time with her family, whether camping, celebrating holidays or vacationing at the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where her happiest moments were those shared with the people she loved. She was able to make one final trip to the Outer Banks this past July. A journey that brought great happiness and precious memories with her family.
Surviving are her children: Fay C. Radziewicz (companion: Michael H. Vernon), Manheim; William E. (Susan A.) Klinefelter, Landisville and Melissa J. (Steven C.) Yoder, Lancaster. Eight grandchildren. Eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son and siblings: Stewart Bortner, Mildred Dubbs, Thelma Carty, Janet McFadden and Helen Antonicelli.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. The Viewing will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. Interment will be in St. Jacob's Stone UCC Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, on Monday at 11:00 A.M.
