John Frederick "Fred" Shoffstall, Jr., 94, was reunited with Jesus Christ in the afternoon of Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was the husband of the late loving wife Joan E. Smith Shoffstall. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late John Frederick, Sr. and Anna Frey Shoffstall.

Fred was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and served in the US Air Force as a meteorologist during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Bell Telephone Company for many years, and eventually stopped working at age 87.

He is survived by his children: JFS, III; Kent and Beth. Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by one younger sister: Wanda Mowery. He was preceded in death by his older sisters: Anne, Carol and Mary.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
