Arlene M. Williams McCarty

Arlene M. Williams McCarty, 86, of Manor Township, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late Melvin L. Williams and the late Karl McCarty. She was born in Manor Township, daughter of the late Rev. Ralph C. and Clara K. Shaub Warner. She worked as the office manager for Funk’s Farm Market for 27 years before her retirement. Arlene was a member of Central Manor Church of God; lifetime attendee of Central Manor Camp Meeting; and was a member of American Women’s Business Association (AWBA). She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing card and board games, jigsaw puzzles and going on bus trips.

Arlene is survived by her children: Beverly J. (Robert E.) Lease, Washington Boro; Joyce M. (Rodney W.) Sweger, Lancaster; Karen E. (G. Scott) Remley, Mountville; and M. Ralph (Marcia L.) Williams, New Providence. Step-children: Roger McCarty, New Holland; Patricia A. (Nevin) McQuate, Denver; Brian L. (Audrey) McCarty, Ephrata; Kathleen M. (James)  Neidermyer, Lititz; and Kim R. Kreider (companion of John Piplow, Jr.), Lancaster. Nine grandchildren. Fourteen step-grandchildren. Nine great-grandchildren. Eighteen step-great-grandchildren. One great-great-granddaughter. Twelve step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Shirley A. Zembrusky; a step-daughter: Carla Kling; a step-great-grandson: Ian; and a brother: Robert Warner.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jeff Martin, officiating. Interment in Creswell Cemetery. Friends may call at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc. on Friday, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Please omit flowers.
