Robert E. Haines

Robert E. Haines, 77, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was born in Coatesville, son of the late George E. and Sara T. Fuller Haines. He was a laborer for Armstrong World Industries for 38 years before his retirement in 2002. He attended Historic St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of AMVETS Post #19; the American Legion Post #466; VFW Red Rose Memorial Post #2435; and Chickies Rock Lodge #307 Order of the Moose. He also enjoyed hunting.

Robert is survived by his children: George E. (Judith A.) Haines; Julie A. (Keith A.) Kirchner; Scott D. Haines, all of Lancaster; and Robert J. (Susan) Spangler, Nottingham. Five grandchildren. One great-granddaughter. One brother: Charles Haines, Lititz. Two sisters: Agnes Haines, Lancaster; and Betty Shirk, Mountville. He was preceded in death by one sister: Anne Elbert.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville, on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may call at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., on Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and also on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Please omit flowers.
