Keith B. Hippey

Keith B. Hippey, 60, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. He was the husband of Michelle J. Shearer Hippey, who was his high school sweetheart. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2016. He was born in Lancaster, son of Betty J. Hippey, Lancaster, and the late Richard E. Hippey. He was a building supervisor for the Columbia School District, prior to that he worked for the Hempfield School District. He also worked as a salesperson, selling tow-truck equipment for almost 38 years until present, which he enjoyed very much. Keith was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church; the VFW Red Rose Memorial Post #2435; and the Minnequa Club, Franklin County. He received his degree from PMA Trucking School. He was an avid nature lover, was an outdoorsman, hunter, loved animals, horseback riding, and camping with his wife. He was a hard working, knowledgeable person, quick witted and loved to play and tell jokes.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife, one brother, three sisters, two brother-in-laws: Wayne W. Shearer, Ephrata, and Larry L. (Dot) Shearer, Columbia. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth Street, Columbia, on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM. with Rev. Don Wert, officiating. Interment in Silver Spring Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Hope Veterinary Specialists, 40 Three Ton Rd., Malvern, PA 19355 or the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
