Ronald J. Heisey

Ronald J. Heisey, 76, of Mountville, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Doris J. Ford Heisey, with whom he celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 21, 2016. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late John K. Heisey and Esther Hable Heisey Stoudt. He was a respiratory technician at Good Samaritan Hospital for 12 years and also worked at Science Press as a computer operator for five years. He was a member of Hempfield United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir; was a graduate of Hazelton High School, Class of 1958; a veteran of the US NAVY, serving during the Vietnam Conflict, where he sang in the Blue Jacket Choir. He was a soloist at many different events. He enjoyed reading, listening to Easy Listening and Big Band Music; football; hunting; and was always doing a project around the house. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, one son: Scott A. (Christy M.) Heisey, Mountville. One grandson: Spencer R. Heisey. One brother: John (Nancy) Heisey, Adamstown. Two sisters: Earla Jean Broich and Phyllis J. Miller, both of Mountville. He was preceded in death by his step-mother: Dorothy Heisey. 

The family would like to thank the personnel and staff at Conestoga View and IICU Sixth Floor at LGH for the kindness and support shown to them. 

The Memorial Service will be held at Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Keith Braucher, officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Please omit flowers.
