Michael R. Bronokoski

February 27, 2017 Gregory Workman

Michael R. Bronokoski, 46, of Lancaster, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was born in Lancaster, son of Joseph and Barbara (Butkey) Bronokoski. Mike graduated in 1990 from Hempfield High School, then served in the US Army for 4 years with B Company, 440th Signal Battalion and also served part of his duty in Germany. He enjoyed working with many friends at PPL, and IBEW Local 1600 as a lineman. He loved being with his family, especially his daughter, Hope. His favorite things to do were going to Ocean City, MD, watching movies, listening to music, and hanging with friends. His favorite teams were the Eagles and Phillies. Over the last few days, words that we heard to describe Mike were, “sweet guy”, and “one of the good ones”, and he really was. Mike also had a great laugh that will be surely missed.

Surviving in addition to his parents, daughter: Hope Bronokoski. Paternal grandmother: Stella Bronokoski. Sister: Denise (Bronokoski) Campbell and her husband, Roger. Nephew: Tyler Campbell. Niece: Kelli Campbell. Ex-wife: Lori Bronokoski. Many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather: John Bronokoski. Maternal grandfather: Kyran Butkey. Maternal grandmother: Helen (Llwellyn) Butkey.

Mike was an organ donor, having donated his eyes. The lung cancer prohibited him from donating any other organs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry Street, Columbia on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Stephen P. Kelley, as Celebrant. Interment in Mountville Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Viewing will be at the church from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. If desired, a good friend of Mike’s set up a gofundme.com page under his name for donations for Mike’s daughter. Arrangements by Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., Columbia/Mountville.
