Clarence L. Laird, Jr.

Clarence L. Laird, Jr., 86, of Mountville passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services. He was the husband of the late Glorianna S. Laird who passed away on February 15, 2014. He was born in Orbisonia, son of the late Clarence L., Sr. and Darlie Jane Mitchell Laird. He worked in Maintenance for Armstrong World Industries for 20 years, and Home Taste Bakery, Huntingdon for 15 years before he retired in 1992. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Reese-Hall VFW Post #8757. Clarence loved his family, boating on the Bush River in Maryland, Dirt-track racing, traveling and dancing.

He is survived by his children: Richard (Tina) Laird, Huntingdon; Michael (Kathy) Laird, Bellefonte; and William (the late Judy) Laird, Barree, PA. Step-children: Bonnie (Duane) Deardorff, Morristown, TN; Ross (Carol) Keene, Mountville; and I. Suzanne (L. Thomas) Hultzapple, Temple, PA. Sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-granchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. One sister: Marian J. Wible, Orbisonia. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Elizabeth Laird; his twin brother: Edward Laird; and one sister: Hazel Raff.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Interment in Riverview Burial Park with Full Military Honors. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. To send an online condolence, visit the condolence page.
