Jocelyn M. Chavez

Jocelyn M. Chavez, 61, of Landisville, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at home. She was the wife of Pastor Mark C. Chavez, with whom she celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on September 27, 2016. She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of Arletta T. Pardoe Bateman and the late George W. Bateman, Jr. She was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother, her children: Cecilia M. (Frank) Bianco; Christopher M. (Jan) Chavez; Timothy B. (Jennifer) Chavez; Ruth V. (Keith) Ober; and Rachel L. (Ryan) Kline. Seven grandchildren: Roman, Gabriella, and Pierce Bianco. Sloan, Landon, Olivia, and Claire Chavez. Nine brothers and sisters: Bonnie (Bob) Rambo; Margaret “Peggy” (Bill) McKeever; Eileen (Walt) Graff; George (Maureen) Bateman, III; Patricia Bateman; Brian (Cathy) Bateman; her identical twin: Evelyn (Bob) Thorpe; Mary Helf; and Jeannine (John) Coyne. She was preceded in death by one son: Kevin M. Chavez.

The Funeral Service will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 75 East High Street, Elizabethtown on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with Bishop John F. Bradosky and Pastor Luke Seamon, officiating. Friends may call at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Thursday, from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and also on Friday, at the church, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Reformation Lutheran Church, 2100 Manor Ridge Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603 or Lutherans for Life, lutheransforlife.org.
