Nancy C. “Brandy” Getz, 74, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the wife of John I. Getz, with whom she celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on August 19, 2017. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Victor P. and Regina M. Anthony Mehaffey. Brandy was the snack bar operator/supervisor at the Clover Store, Lancaster and also worked at the Rising Sun Hotel. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the 300 Club; and the Susquehanna Fire Company (Hambones). She enjoyed going to the VFW for Dinner, playing cards, going to the mountains, Neil Diamond Music, and craft shows.
Surviving in addition to her husband, three daughters: Kelly J. Shelton, wife of Kim J., Cameron, NC; Stacy L. Rutter, wife of Robert J., Mount Joy; and Nicole M. Stoner, wife of Ryan J., Hellam Twp. One grandson: Robert A. “Bobby” Rutter, husband of Heather. Two grandchildren: Conner M. and Skylar G. Three siblings: Joann Hiemenz, Phyllis Letavic, and Michael Mehaffey, all of Lancaster.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth Street, Columbia, on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Stephen P. Kelley, officiating. Final Commendation and Farewell in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
