Clayton H. Derstler

Clayton H. Derstler, 100, of Washington Boro, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at home. He was the husband of the late Ida K. Hess Derstler to whom he was married for 63 years before she passed away in 2001. He was born in Columbia, son of the late Clayton N. and Myrtle Harms Derstler. Clayton was a mechanic and farmer having worked for Ed Froelich, Nissley Farm Service, and the Frey Dairy Farms. He was the oldest person associated with Central Manor Church of God, and enjoyed hunting, tinkering in the shop, gardening, reading his Bible and studying Prophecy. He was a member of the Antique Motorcycle Club, and was an avid sportsman.

He is survived by the Mike and Nancy Nissly family, Washington Boro. Clayton was preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Derstler, and one brother: Kenneth Derstler.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 5:00 P.M., with Rev. Ryan W. Cobb, officiating. Private interment in Mountville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Please omit flowers.
