James Iver Petersen

James Iver Petersen, PE, 75, of Ayampe, Ecuador, and Perryville, Maryland, passed away on February 1, 2018. He was the husband of Beverly (Schafer) Petersen, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage. Jim was born in Kenosha, WI. He will truly be missed by all who shared his love for Jesus, structural engineering, photography, the written word, art expression, publishing, and dry humor. Jim showed deep love and loyalty for his family, coworkers, neighbors, and friends, having gifted them with his personalized expressions.

Surviving in addition to his wife, son: David J. (Julie) Petersen. Daughters: Tamara L. Petersen; and Inger Petersen (Rich) Carle. Four grandchildren. One great-grandchild. Sister: Kathee Jennings. Nieces and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Zion Church of Millersville, 317 N. George St., Millersville on Sunday, August 12, 2018. Family and friends are invited to attend a (casual dress) remembrance of Jim during the drop-in hours of 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. A table of display will be available for any who want to share Jim’s creative work. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to support Victoria’s Little Lambs Fund, in care of “Zion Church of Millersville,” 317 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551, which provides medicines and medical help to vulnerable children in Peru, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Bolivia. Please note Victoria’s Fund in the memo.
