Doris A. Cook, 89, of Columbia, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Walter and Pearl Dudley Reese. She worked as an assembler at RCA for more than forty years and also at Kahn-Lucas before her retirement. Doris was of the Methodist faith, enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a good conversationalist and enjoyed socializing with others. Doris was an avid animal lover and Elvis fan. She loved her family, was a good mother and was a caregiver for her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons: Eric R. (Annette) Cook and Charles W. Cook (companion of Jillian Ness). One daughter: Kristine Y. (Chris) Powers. Seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two on the way. One brother: Robert Reese. She was preceded in death by one son: James Cook. Two brothers: Kenneth Dudley and Walter "June" Reese.
The Memorial Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth Street, Columbia on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. The Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
