Keith A. Harris, 77, of Washington Boro, peacefully went to be with his Savior Jesus, in the presence of his family, on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Keith was one of five sons, born to the late Harry J. and Winifred Hickernell Harris. After moving from Lebanon to Millersville in 1961, Keith made many friends and eventually met Joyce Miller at Penn Manor High School and they were married in 1966.
Keith loved building things, a talent that he credited to his grandfather, Henry Harris. His first job was working for Irvin Swisher, which eventually led to a career as a project manager for Nauman Construction and McMichael Construction. He managed projects such as Lancaster Outlet City and Rockvale, but some of his most meaningful work was much closer to home. Keith built his family's house in 1976 and lived there until his death.
Keith was always eager to help family and friends with building and remodeling projects. Many of his greatest creations revolved around his grandchildren: a tree house, a cannon, an indoor airplane, Grand Prix cars, and countless school projects. His last project was designing and building a barn with his son, which they completed together in June of 2026.
Keith was known for his storytelling and often captivated family and friends with his creativity and imagination. His ability to build, create, and tell a good story brought joy to generations of his family and will be fondly remembered.
He is survived by his son: Mark (Denise) Harris. Five grandchildren: Megan (Josh) Barben; Tim (Johnna) Harris; Brandon (Kiersten) Harris; Courtney (Christian) Perez and Andrew Harris. Four great-grandchildren: Luke and Cole Barben and Charlie and Cal Harris. Three brothers: Craig, Kevin and Kim Harris. He was preceded in death by one son: Christopher Harris and one brother: Kerry Harris.
An informal visitation to share memories with his family, will be at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. A Private Graveside Service and Burial will be at Habecker Mennonite Cemetery.
