Carl Eugene Floyd, 88, of St. Anne's Retirement Community, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. He was the loving husband of the late Doris E. Bitner Floyd for 64 years before her death in 2023. He was born in Milton Grove, son of the late Roy and Emma Dupler Floyd.
Carl worked for Lancaster Leaf Tobacco for a few years after high school and retired from Case New Holland after 34 years of service. He and Doris enjoyed Southern Gospel Music and attended many concerts over the years. They were Phillies fans and enjoyed flowers, and he enjoyed hunting. Their greatest joy came from their Lord and being with family, for whom they regularly prayed. They were members of Word of Life Chapel, Bainbridge.
Carl's family will miss him and his beautiful, ready smile.
He is survived by one son: Dale E. (Peg) Floyd, Mount Joy. One daughter: Donna K. (Bob) Wiggins, Conestoga. Grandchildren: Matt (Amy) Wiggins; Amy (Dean) Livengood; Ben Floyd (companion: Hope Setile); and Kim (Paul) Esposito. Great grandchildren: Hailey; Calley; Noah; Bree and Eden, will miss "Gramps". One sister: Arlene (Wesley) Bitner. He was preceded in death by brothers: Roy, Harold, Jim, Lawrence and Clayton Floyd.
Carl's family is grateful for the staff of St. Anne's who cared for him over the last six years, especially those in memory support, the last year.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Aaron Spoonhour, officiating. The Viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Interment in Mountville Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
