Betty Jane Bippus

Betty Jane Bippus, 88, of Mountville, died on Friday, April 22, 2016 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Lester S. Bippus, who died in 2008. She was born in Lancaster County, daughter of the late Earl and Erma Kerstetter Eshleman. A member of Body of Christ, she worshipped at Reformation Lutheran Church, NALC, where she was active on the fellowship committee. She was an avid reader, talented gardener, and superb cook. Betty was active until the last week of her life. Her boundless energy and youthfulness were inspiring. She and Lester enjoyed many years of boating on the Chesapeake Bay, as well as time in the mountains. She was a buyer and administrative assistant for two companies in Lancaster County, with her career spanning over thirty years.

Betty is survived by her son: Jack E. Bippus, Sr. husband of Mimi Sigworth. One grandson: Jack E. Bippus, Jr. One brother: James Eshleman husband of Patricia. One sister: Pat Eshleman Winters. Sister-In-Law: Mary Eshleman. Numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  She was preceded in death by one son: Lester S. Bippus, Jr. and seven siblings.

Visitation will be held at Reformation Lutheran Church, 2100 Manor Ridge Drive, Lancaster on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. followed by the Rite of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Luke Seamon, officiating. Memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to: Water Mission, PO Box 71489, North Charleston, SC 29415, (in the memo line please write: Rafiki Project) or Above & Beyond English Setter Rescue, 60 Molleystown Rd, Pine Grove, PA 17963.
