Gerald C. Koons, 94, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Zerbe Retirement Community. He was the companion of Sarah L. Ward. He was born in Bainbridge, son of the late Ralph M. and Mabel Koons. Gerald was a Custodian for ITT Grinnell, Columbia before his retirement and was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII. He was a member of the VFW, and he enjoyed hunting, and gardening. Gerald was the last of his immediate family.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 South Eighth St., Columbia on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. Please omit flowers.
