John H. Snyder

John H. Snyder, 88, of Columbia, formerly of Mountville, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Ruth E. Redcay Snyder, with whom he celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on April 17, 2017. He was born in Mountville, son of the late John B. and Mary Kauffman Snyder. John was a Mill Manager for Pennfield Corporation for 49 years before his retirement. He was a member of St Paul's United Methodist Church and enjoyed going to his cabin in Perry County; hunting; reading books; and studying about the history of cars and tractors which he grew up with. He enjoyed his family, especially their cookouts. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, two sons: John D. (Ellie C.) Snyder, Lititz; and Jim D. (Lorrie) Snyder, Pequea. Five grandchildren: Jodie (Keith) Morris; Jessica Pannebecker; John D. (Kim) Snyder, Jr.; Benjamin J. (Kayleigh) Snyder; and Bryan D. (Amber) Snyder. Ten great-grandchildren. One sister: Mary (Vernon) Shenk, Mountville. One brother: I. Kenneth (Sherilyn) Snyder, Mountville. 

The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sally Ott, officiating. Private interment in Mountville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc. from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Please omit flowers.
