Ream. K.jpg

Katherine “Fay” Ream , 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Conestoga View, where she resided for the past five years. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Ream who passed away in September of 1987. She was born in Lancaster, eldest child of the late J. Vernon and Eva Katherine Hambright Lehn and step-daughter of the late Norma Lehn. She was raised in Lititz and later lived in Paradise and Lancaster. In her younger years, she worked at Hubley and Gabriel  Toy Companies, and also worked at LGH as a nurse’s aid. Fay was a very giving person, devoting her life to caring for others. She would help out at Covenant United Methodist Church, where she was a member, helped to serve the holiday meals to the homeless, and went on mission trips over the summer. She was a Red Cross volunteer most of her life working at LGH, and later at Conestoga View.  She was also the recipient of the Red Rose Award for her service to the community. Fay never had any children of her own, but helped raise her younger sister, Mindy after their mother passed away. “Nanny” will be missed by Kellie, and Scott, who she thought of as her grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: Kayla and Dylan Lehman. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters: Jay Vernon (Carol) Lehn, Tempe, AZ; Robert Lehn; Jacqueline Mackenzie; Mindy (Richard) Hartsough, Mountville; and Geraldine Zeljeznjak, Norfolk, VA. She was preceded in death by sisters: Eva Patricia Ulrich; and Dorothy Lehn. Step-brother: William Simmons, Jr.

Her family meant everything to her and she loved going to reunions with all of her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Graveside Service and Burial will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: the American Red Cross of Central PA. Arrangements by the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., Mountville/Columbia.
