Carol S. "Sue" Carmel, 75, of Denver, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 19, 2025. She was born in Greensburg, daughter of the late James Earl, Jr. and May Elizabeth Mertz Aikins. Sue was a graduate of Kiski Area High School, Class of 1967 and was very active in their reunion planning. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Mountville and was a clerk for the PA State Police, Bowmansville Barracks for 13 years. Sue enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and helping people by "Paying It Forward".

She is survived by one son: Kurt M. (Bronwyn B.) Carmel, Maryland and one daughter: Christie L. (Brian L.) Cunnius, Shoemakersville. Four grandchildren: Amelia, Taz, Michael and Devin. One great grandson: Wyatt. Two brothers: Jim (Karen) Aikins, III, Ohio and Rick (Cat) Aikins, Pennsylvania. Two sisters: Sherrie Silvis, Michigan and Gloria Jean Anthony, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Ed and Terry Aikins.
