James A. “Jimmy” Gerber, 56, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, April 15, 2016. He was born in Fort Benning, GA, son of the late Kenneth E., Sr. and Betty Jane Bare Gerber. Jimmy was a self-employed painter for 34 years.
He is survived by three children: Lance M. (Heidi) Gerber, Pequea; Jenna Sheppard, Lancaster; and Luke Brobist, Wilkes-Barre. One granddaughter: Grace Amble, Lancaster and four step-grandchildren. Seven brothers and sisters: Jackie Bell, Lancaster; Debra King, Tampa, FL; Michael L. (Deb) Gerber, Lancaster; Douglas S. (Mary Ann) Gerber, Mount Joy; Ronald C. Gerber, Reading; Steven C. Gerber, Lancaster; and Kenneth E. (Diane) Gerber, Jr., Lancaster. Several nieces and nephews, and his best friend: Dana Roseman. He was preceded in death by one sister: Patricia Lee Gerber, and one brother: David R. “Peanut” Gerber.
Graveside service and burial will be held at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Please omit flowers.
