Guy L. Markle, Jr., 79, of West Hempfield Twp., passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Hospice and Community Care. He was the husband of Carol Ann Kingsbury Markle with whom he would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on October 13, 2026. Guy was born in Hanover, son of the late Guy L., Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Halter Markle.

Guy was a chemist for Armstrong World Industries. He attended Elizabethtown College for two years and then Kutztown University for two years. He also graduated from the University of Scranton with his Master's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation. He was a member of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church. Guy enjoyed reading, sprint car racing, and baseball, (especially the Los Angeles Dodgers) and was a Penn State fan. He traveled to Hawaii two times.

Surviving in addition to his wife, one son: Steven D. (Cheryl L.) Markle, Leola. One sister: Barbara Ann Krug, Denver, CO. Brother-in-law: Donald R. (Michelle) Kingsbury, Harrisburg. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

The Memorial Service will be held at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3825 Concordia Road, Columbia, PA 17512 on Friday July 17, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mary Ann Kingsborough, officiating. Visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church.
