Joann L. Zimmerman, 90, of Woodcrest Villa, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026. She was the wife of Abner G. Zimmerman, Jr. to whom she was married for 66 years on November 26, 2025. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Harry and Naomi Hess Redcay. Joann was a member of Grace Church at Willow Valley. She was a bank teller for Fulton Bank and a hostess at Good & Plenty Restaurant.
Joann enjoyed needle point, crocheting, and going to the mountains with her husband and sister for bird watching. She was also a volunteer at Water Street Rescue Mission for many years.
Surviving in addition to her husband, two sons: Dwayne A. (Holly) Zimmerman, Wrightsville and Gary K. (Kay) Zimmerman, Glen Rock. Three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Margaret "Peg" Martin and Jean Nice.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Grace Church at Willow Valley, 300 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Ross Dunk, officiating. There will be no public viewing. The Visitation will be held following the service. Private interment in Hempfield Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
