Sherry A. Newcomer

Sherry A. Newcomer, 59, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Hospice and Community Care. She was the fiancée of Matthew J. Hawthorne. Sherry was born in Lancaster, daughter of Joyce Cooper Brosey and the late Robert Brosey. She worked as a medical records clerk at Lancaster General Hospital for 25 years. Sherry attended Penn Manor High School and enjoyed riding on Harley Davidson motorcycles and listening to 80's rock bands. She held a special place in everyone's heart.

Surviving in addition to her fiancé, two sons: Nathan R. Rojas and Steven B. (fiancée: Kala) Newcomer. One stepson: Andrew S. Hawthorne. Three grandchildren: Giuliana, Lyric and Killian. Two sisters: Maria Lefever and Aimee (Bill) Gahagan. One nephew: Michael Hollow. Her in-laws: David and Marie Rosa.

Mo Lo

Mo Lo, 37, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. Mo was born in Burma, son of Pah Gaw Htoo and Moo Ray. On April 17, 2011, he was married to Paw Eh Hsar. Mo is survived by two sons: Jeremy Lo and Jairo Lo.

Mo was employed at Richter Precision. His hobbies were hunting, working out at the gym, and cooking. Everyone enjoyed the food that he cooked! Mo also enjoyed doing things with his family: playing guitar and singing, cooking and sharing family meals together.

Mo was a member of Habecker Mennonite Church where he played the drums with the worship team.

Shirley A. Fasig

Shirley A. Fasig, 84, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at home. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late David and Hazel Reichard Mann. Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and watching her Christmas shows.

Surviving are her children: Tony E. Nell; Jody A. Hartman; Larry D. (Mary Beth) Nell; Melissa F. Thomas and Fred B. Nell. Eight grandchildren. Twenty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson: Mark A. Shope. One brother: Larry Ford and one sister: Dolores Hinkle.

Judith Reynolds

Judith Reynolds, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Legend of Lititz. She was born in Norristown, daughter of the late Daniel and Esther Wallace Ott. She worked as a cashier at Giant Food Store, Stone Mill Plaza for 30 years before her retirement. Following her retirement, she was a caregiver. Judi was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed painting, watching videos, listening to Gospel music, home projects and cake decorating.

She is survived by one son: Jim H. (Bernice L.) Reynolds, Pequea. One daughter: Terri L. Reynolds, Elizabethtown. Eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: D. Michael Reynolds and eleven brothers and sisters.

John W. Hinkle

John W. Hinkle, 68, of Krempton, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. John was born in Marietta, son of the late Paul H., Jr. and Dolores M. Ford Hinkle. He was a driver for Air Products before his retirement. John was a veteran of the US Army and enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by two sons: John Hinkle, Jr. and Jeff (Sarah) Hinkle. Five grandchildren: Sam, Emily, Lilly, Jeffrey and Rachel. Two sisters: Wendy J. (Mike) Medina and Pennie J. (Joel L.) Kehres. He was preceded in death by one brother: Paul H. Hinkle, III.

Robert D. Funk, 90, of Manor Township, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at St. Anne's Retirement Community. He was the husband of the late Elaine S. Funk, who passed away on March 26, 2014. Bob was born in Lancaster, son of the late Roy H. and Mildred Shultz Funk. He was a farmer and also worked at DH Funk, Inc. He was a member of Central Manor Church. Bob loved going to the beach at Ocean City, NJ, motorcycles and driving his ‘67 Mustang. He was a longtime stand holder at Central Market and loved to travel.

He is survived by one son: Jeffrey (Donna) Funk, Mountville. Two daughters: Melanie Snyder, Lititz and Lynn (Jerry) Hess, Davidson, NC. He was preceded in death by one son: Michael Funk. Eight brothers: Milton, Amos, James, Lester, Edward, Leroy, Paul and Donald Funk and one sister: Ruth Funk.

C. William Landau

C. William Landau, 95, of Lancaster County, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at home, after a long illness with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sara R. Myers Landau. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Charles William and Margaret Bernhard Landau. He was a self-employed painter/paper hanger all of his life before his retirement and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club and served in many official capacities there. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed taking many trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas casinos.

Surviving in addition to his wife, one son: Jay W. (Karen N.) Landau, Lancaster. One daughter: Vicki L. Cooke. Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Penny M. Frankhouser

Penny M. Frankhouser, 71, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at home. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Frankhouser, Sr., who passed away on June 29, 2009. Penny was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Christian and Elizabeth Zook Leonard. She worked in the cafeteria of Hempfield School District, Nolt's Pond and St. Anne's Retirement Community. She was of the Catholic faith and loved camping, thrift store shopping, fishing, collecting Elvis and Coca Cola memorabilia, and her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son: Thomas F. (Melissa) Frankhouser, Jr. and one daughter: Megan L. (James) Killian. Three grandchildren: Destiny Miller, Ashley Adams and Wyatt Killian. Two brothers: Sam (Dawn) Leonard and Joe Leonard. One sister: Mary Catherine Leonard. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Anna M. Kreeger.

Marguerite F. Dippery

Marguerite F. Dippery, 96, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Ephrata Community Hospital. She was the wife of the late V. Eugene "Dip" Dippery, who passed away on May 14, 1996. She was born in Huntingdon, daughter of the late James and Ruth Sandrus Webb. Marguerite worked as an examiner and folder for Donegal Industries for 28 years before her retirement in February of 1996 and also a salesperson for Sears, retiring in December of 2006. She was a member of the former Silver Spring Baptist Church. Marguerite was an avid reader, amazing cook, and enjoyed doing things for other people. She had a heart of gold.

She is survived by her daughters: Bonnie M. (Frank) Mummert; Marijane E. Walker; Debra R. (Doug) Deibler and Becky L. (Richard) Wolf. Eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Beverly Gulliver, six brothers and six sisters. She was the last of her immediate family.

Rachel J. Rakita

Rachel J. Zeamer-Rakita, 50, of (Columbia) Philadelphia, grew her angel wings on Sunday, November 30, 2025, after a short illness at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Dean A. Zeamer (July, 1975) and Stephanie A. Bourne-Zeamer Douglas, wife of Michael D. Douglas. Rachel was a member of Columbia Community Church, a cake decorator, and a seamstress. She loved camping and going to the beach, especially Lewes and Rehoboth. Rachel was a free-spirited person who was an avid fan of the Grateful Dead and Bob Marley. She loved animals, especially cats, and really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her mother and father, her son: Lake A. (Kayla) Rakita and her daughter: Harmony G. Zeamer. Sisters: Justine R. (Tony) Ritzman-Helmick and Joshalyn R. Ritzman-Rentas. Nieces: Justus Keller, Mercedes (fiancé of David Bowman) Rentas; Lexus Helmick, and Makahila Rentas. Great nephews: Lincoln, Jaxson, and Mayson Bowman. Paternal grandparents: David and Jennifer Douglas. Uncles: Kirk Douglas, Danny, husband of Barb Bourne (daughter Suzanne Bourne). Rachel is also survived by a loving extended family of many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by: Maternal grandparents: James D. (Betty J. Lee A. Singer, 93, of Ironville, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mildred M. Singer, who passed away on July 14, 2024. Lee was born in Ironville, son of the late Walter and Mary Rhoades Singer. He worked in Maintenance at Armstrong World Industries before his retirement. Lee enjoyed antiques and restoring antique machinery. He was a founding member of Fox Harbor Archery.

He is survived by two sons: Jeffrey L. (Maureen K.) Singer and Brian S. (Karen J.) Singer. Three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister: Erma Frey.

David C. Starner

David C. Starner, 69, of Landisville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at home. He was the husband of Terri L. Smith Starner, with whom he celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on November 3, 2025. David was born in Deposit, NY, son of the late Grayson D. and Betsy K. Van Ness Starner. He had very fond memories growing up in Lockport, NY. In 1968, he moved to Pennsylvania, and became an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a graduate of Millersville University, Class of 1982 and worked as a truck driver for Air Products before his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, hiking and kayaking. Paul H. Uibel

Paul H. Uibel, 63, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at home. He was the husband of Ulessia L. Barr Uibel whom he married on September 8, 2024. Paul was born in Ephrata, son of the late Fred F. and Marie M. Bouvier Uibel. He worked as a truck driver for many years, loved the New England Patriots, and coached Mountville boy's football. He was a loving, devoted husband and father.

Surviving in addition to his wife, two brothers: John and Charles Uibel. One sister: Donna Trapp. He was preceded in death by one son: Austin Altland. One daughter: Alyssa Uibel. Three brothers: Rick, Danny and Bob.

Jean E. Houck, 82, of Mountville, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at home. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Houck. Jean was born in Bressler, daughter of the late Harold S. and Kathryn E. Cain Hetzel.

Jean was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. She worked in the cafeteria at Hempfield High School, before her retirement. Jean enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends and spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She also loved her dog, "Mason."

She is survived by two sons: Gary E. (Kirsty) Houck and Ken (Lynne) Houck. One daughter: Eileen P. (John) Catino. . Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Kathy (Andy) Burger and Carol Lou Casey.  She was preceded in death by her sisters: Joan Kutz (her twin) and Shirley Ann Bartlett. One brother: Harold Lee Hetzel.

Carl E. Wickenheiser

Carl E. Wickenheiser, 93, of Silver Spring, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. Wickenheiser, who passed away on April 17, 2015. Carl was born in Columbia, son of the late Joseph S. Wickenheiser and Margaret Kruger Flosser. He worked at Armstrong World Industries for 18 years and was the owner/operator of Wickenheiser Windchimes. Carl was of the Catholic faith, a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed wood carving, fixing things around the house and traveling.

He is survived by four sons: David Whalen, Lancaster; Michael (Stacy) Whalen, Silver Spring; Sean (Dolores) Whalen, Mountville and Christopher (Bonnie) Whalen, Marietta. Six daughters: Julia (Scott) Kennedy, Lancaster; Sherry (Brian) Gates; Michelle Kensinger; Susan (John) Dilling; Theresa Frazier and Sarah Miller. Twenty-five grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Theresa Nester. One grandson: Seth Cassell. Three brothers: Daniel, Joseph and Paul Wickenheiser. One sister: Margaret Showman.

David K. Miller

David Kenneth Miller, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after a short illness with bone cancer. He was the husband of Beth T. Miller, with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage last March. Dave was a faithful member of Central Manor Church. He worked for Musser Farms, Turkey Hill Dairy and then for S. Clyde Weaver, Inc., for 50 years where he went to market, worked in food preparation and repaired equipment. Dave was able to fix almost anything. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, including in the wood shop at Woodcrest Villa. He and Beth enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family, especially at their cabin in Juniata County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Mary Lou wife of Joe N. Sherer and one son: Kenneth husband of Brenda Miller. Five grandchildren: Laura (Josh) Vlasak; Ryan (Melanie) Miller; Allison (Josh) Sherer; Melanie Sherer and Carissa Sherer. Four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter V. and Laura Heindel Miller. Stepmother: Grace Moyer Miller. His sisters: Mildred Zellers and Edna Shaiebly. His brother: Walter V. Miller, Jr. and his stepsister: Ruth Ebersole.

Edith S. Harnish, 80, of Faithful Living Personal Care Community, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Edith was a member of Kauffman's Mennonite Church. She was a custom cabinet maker with her interests being woodworking, sewing and embroidery, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by two sisters: Rhoda (Robert) Sauder, Hagerstown, MD and Esther M. Nolt, Myerstown. One brother: Harold Harnish, Newmanstown. She was preceded in death by one brother: Marlin Harnish, Millersville.

Neal G. Kresge

Neal G. Kresge, 74, passed away peacefully at home. He was the husband of Judy Hossler Kresge. Neal was born in Columbia, son of the late Donald and Marian Kresge.

Neal was a supportive father and a doting grandfather. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, later working as an electronic technician. Neal loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, long drives, bicycling rail trails and planning detailed road trips, ultimately traveling to 49 states with his wife. Throughout his life Neal took on projects big and small, gutting and refurbishing their first home, as well as lending a hand to friends, family and the Mountville community.

Surviving in addition to his wife, one daughter: Jenee (Jack) Gaynor. Twin grandchildren: Elena and Thomas. Two brothers: Roger (Suzanne) Kresge and Philip (Patti Grabowski) Kresge. Two sisters: Missy (Jerry) Feiler and Susan (Vance Getz) Kresge.

The Celebration of Life will be held at The Gathering Place in Mount Joy, on Monday, November 24th from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 P.M. Jo Ann Jarvis, 73, of Millersville, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Lancaster Medical Center. She was born in California, daughter of the late Clarence and Irene Stewart Jarvis. Jo Ann worked as a clerk at John Herr’s Market and enjoyed cooking and animals.

Sharon K. Lutz, 70, of West Hempfield Township, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at home. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Russell F. and Helen C. Gotschall Lutz. Sharon was a bookbinder for Binder Associates, Lancaster. She loved baseball, especially the Phillies, cats and all animals.
