Lee A. Singer

Lee A. Singer, 93, of Ironville, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mildred M. Singer, who passed away on July 14, 2024. Lee was born in Ironville, son of the late Walter and Mary Rhoades Singer. He worked in Maintenance at Armstrong World Industries before his retirement. Lee enjoyed antiques and restoring antique machinery. He was a founding member of Fox Harbor Archery.

He is survived by two sons: Jeffrey L. (Maureen K.) Singer and Brian S. (Karen J.) Singer. Three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister: Erma Frey.

David C. Starner

David C. Starner, 69, of Landisville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at home. He was the husband of Terri L. Smith Starner, with whom he celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on November 3, 2025. David was born in Deposit, NY, son of the late Grayson D. and Betsy K. Van Ness Starner. He had very fond memories growing up in Lockport, NY. In 1968, he moved to Pennsylvania, and became an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a graduate of Millersville University, Class of 1982 and worked as a truck driver for Air Products before his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, hiking and kayaking. David loved being a father to his two daughters and was a very good family man. He was a graduate of Millersville University, Class of 1982 and worked as a truck driver for Air Products before his retirement. Surviving in addition to his wife, two daughters: Jacqueline (Scott) Simonovich, California and Brittany (Dan) Torres, Maytown. One granddaughter: Sabrina and one on the way. One brother: Robert (Abi) Starner. One sister: Gretchen (Dan) Famous. Three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by one sister: Nancy L. Starner.

Paul H. Uibel

Paul H. Uibel, 63, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at home. He was the husband of Ulessia L. Barr Uibel whom he married on September 8, 2024. Paul was born in Ephrata, son of the late Fred F. and Marie M. Bouvier Uibel. He worked as a truck driver for many years, loved the New England Patriots, and coached Mountville boy's football. He was a loving, devoted husband and father.

Surviving in addition to his wife, two brothers: John and Charles Uibel. One sister: Donna Trapp. He was preceded in death by one son: Austin Altland. One daughter: Alyssa Uibel. Three brothers: Rick, Danny and Bob.

Jean E. Houck

Jean E. Houck, 82, of Mountville, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at home. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Houck. Jean was born in Bressler, daughter of the late Harold S. and Kathryn E. Cain Hetzel.

Jean was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. She worked in the cafeteria at Hempfield High School, before her retirement. Jean enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends and spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She also loved her dog, "Mason."

She is survived by two sons: Gary E. (Kirsty) Houck and Ken (Lynne) Houck. One daughter: Eileen P. (John) Catino. . Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Kathy (Andy) Burger and Carol Lou Casey.  She was preceded in death by her sisters: Joan Kutz (her twin) and Shirley Ann Bartlett. One brother: Harold Lee Hetzel.

Carl E. Wickenheiser

Carl E. Wickenheiser, 93, of Silver Spring, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. Wickenheiser, who passed away on April 17, 2015. Carl was born in Columbia, son of the late Joseph S. Wickenheiser and Margaret Kruger Flosser. He worked at Armstrong World Industries for 18 years and was the owner/operator of Wickenheiser Windchimes. Carl was of the Catholic faith, a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed wood carving, fixing things around the house and traveling.

He is survived by four sons: David Whalen, Lancaster; Michael (Stacy) Whalen, Silver Spring; Sean (Dolores) Whalen, Mountville and Christopher (Bonnie) Whalen, Marietta. Six daughters: Julia (Scott) Kennedy, Lancaster; Sherry (Brian) Gates; Michelle Kensinger; Susan (John) Dilling; Theresa Frazier and Sarah Miller. Twenty-five grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Theresa Nester. One grandson: Seth Cassell. Three brothers: Daniel, Joseph and Paul Wickenheiser. One sister: Margaret Showman.

David K. Miller

David Kenneth Miller, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after a short illness with bone cancer. He was the husband of Beth T. Miller, with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage last March. Dave was a faithful member of Central Manor Church. He worked for Musser Farms, Turkey Hill Dairy and then for S. Clyde Weaver, Inc., for 50 years where he went to market, worked in food preparation and repaired equipment. Dave was able to fix almost anything. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, including in the wood shop at Woodcrest Villa. He and Beth enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family, especially at their cabin in Juniata County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Mary Lou wife of Joe N. Sherer and one son: Kenneth husband of Brenda Miller. Five grandchildren: Laura (Josh) Vlasak; Ryan (Melanie) Miller; Allison (Josh) Sherer; Melanie Sherer and Carissa Sherer. Four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter V. and Laura Heindel Miller. Stepmother: Grace Moyer Miller. His sisters: Mildred Zellers and Edna Shaiebly. His brother: Walter V. Miller, Jr. and his stepsister: Ruth Ebersole.

Edith S. Harnish

Edith S. Harnish, 80, of Faithful Living Personal Care Community, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Edith was a member of Kauffman's Mennonite Church. She was a custom cabinet maker with her interests being woodworking, sewing and embroidery, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by two sisters: Rhoda (Robert) Sauder, Hagerstown, MD and Esther M. Nolt, Myerstown. One brother: Harold Harnish, Newmanstown. She was preceded in death by one brother: Marlin Harnish, Millersville.

Neal G. Kresge

Neal G. Kresge, 74, passed away peacefully at home. He was the husband of Judy Hossler Kresge. Neal was born in Columbia, son of the late Donald and Marian Kresge.

Neal was a supportive father and a doting grandfather. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, later working as an electronic technician. Neal loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, long drives, bicycling rail trails and planning detailed road trips, ultimately traveling to 49 states with his wife. Throughout his life Neal took on projects big and small, gutting and refurbishing their first home, as well as lending a hand to friends, family and the Mountville community.

Surviving in addition to his wife, one daughter: Jenee (Jack) Gaynor. Twin grandchildren: Elena and Thomas. Two brothers: Roger (Suzanne) Kresge and Philip (Patti Grabowski) Kresge. Two sisters: Missy (Jerry) Feiler and Susan (Vance Getz) Kresge.

The Celebration of Life will be held at The Gathering Place in Mount Joy, on Monday, November 24th from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 P.M. Jo Ann Jarvis

Jo Ann Jarvis, 73, of Millersville, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Lancaster Medical Center. She was born in California, daughter of the late Clarence and Irene Stewart Jarvis. Jo Ann worked as a clerk at John Herr’s Market and enjoyed cooking and animals.

She is survived by one son: Brad Cramer, South Dakota and one daughter: Amy Dotter, Lancaster. Also, six grandchildren and three siblings.

Sharon K. Lutz

Sharon K. Lutz, 70, of West Hempfield Township, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at home. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Russell F. and Helen C. Gotschall Lutz. Sharon was a bookbinder for Binder Associates, Lancaster. She loved baseball, especially the Phillies, cats and all animals.

She is survived by one brother: Gary L. Lutz, Willow Street and one nephew: Phillip M. Lutz, Lititz.

Amani M. Shockley

Amani M. Shockley, 17 months, of Leola, passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was born in Pottsville, daughter of Keron D. Shockley and Kayla M. Aviles. Amani loved hiding people's shoes, playing outback and her Dora.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers: Amarii Aviles and Isaiah Shockley and one sister: Makenna Jones. Paternal grandparents: William Brown and Bridgette Merricks. Maternal grandparents: Freddy Aviles and Jennifer Clark. Numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by one aunt: Shanelle Aviles.

Donald L. Roberts

Donald L. Roberts, 60, a lifelong resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Don was the husband of Angela L “Angie” Shultz Roberts with whom he celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on April 16, 2025. He was born in Columbia, son of the late Harry E. “Flop”, III and Mary Catherine Donley Roberts. Don was a graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1984. He was a supervisor/driver worked for Red Rose Access for 15 years and was also a taxi driver. Donnie was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife, his stepchildren: Wayne (companion of Keri) Nissley, Jr., Hellam, Amy (Casey) Sheehan, Wrightsville and Justin (Amber) Nissley, Yorkana. Three grandchildren: Bradyn Nissley; Zander Nissley and Nova Nissley. Three brothers: Jeffery “Scott” Roberts; Bruce Roberts (Fiancé of Billy Jo Powers) and Brian (Melanie) Roberts, all from Columbia. Nieces: Marybeth (Matt) Rose, Columbia and Erica Roberts, Elizabethtown. Nephews: Jeffery (Dana) Roberts, Harry E. Roberts, V and Brian (Linda) Roberts, II. Numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Raymond N. and Evelyn R. Donley, one brother: Harry E. Roberts, IV and one sister: Kim Roberts Beaston.

Fay M. Auker

Fay M. Auker, 85, a resident of Celebration Villa of York, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born in Ephrata, daughter of the late Elvin and Sarah Ditzler Fake. Fay was a graduate of Ephrata High School, Emile's Academy and Penn State. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and a member of Eastern Star, Lititz Springs. Fay worked at Mary Lou Sturgis Salon for 10 years and 30 years as a Cosmetology Instructor at Willow Street Vo-Tech. She was known for her "pit crew" abilities at E.C.E.A hare scrambles and enduro races for 30 years. Her love of camping and riding motorcycle provided many memories and visits to the East Coast. Fay loved traveling abroad with her family, gardening, reading and visiting with friends. Her years in Florida brought her new friends and fun adventures.

She is survived by one daughter: Teresa Ann (Steven) Arnold. Her adored grandsons, "her boys": Jay and Jesse Arnold. One sister: Jean Worline.

Fay lived her life with gusto, appreciation and fought valiantly to remain strongly independent.

Jane Louise Bryant

Jane Louise Bryant, 83, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late David H. Bryant, Sr. who passed away on April 1, 2025. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Ellwood E. and Kathryn Habel Yohe. Jane was a former member of Columbia Bible Church and attended Calvary Bible Church, Wrightsville. She loved and was very dedicated to her family.

She is survived by her sons: Dave, Jr. (Krista); Randy; Steve (Dana) and Kevin (Jill). Her grandchildren: Kelli, Jared, Nathan, Hope, Elizabeth, Kevin, Jr. and Katy. Also, seven great-grandchildren. One sister: Kathy (Kenneth, II) Miller.

Jeremy D. Aston

Jeremy D. Aston, 54, of Columbia, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born in Lancaster, son of Vicki L. Aston and the late Jerome Ellis. Jeremy worked as a general laborer in the construction industry and was a Veteran of the US Navy.

James G. "Jim" Meley

James G. "Jim" Meley, 84, of West Hempfield Township, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was the husband of Jennifer Fisher Meley, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on May 27, 2025. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late Nicholas J. and Margaret P. McKenna Meley. Jim was a Veteran of the US Army and was a member of Hempfield United Methodist Church, where he was an usher. Jim was a director of the Hempfield Area Rec Center and a union President. He enjoyed going on bus trips.

Jim was an Insurance Agent for Prudential for 23 years, retired from the US Post Office after 12 years and also worked for the Hempfield School District at Farmdale.

Surviving in addition to his wife, his children: Joel Eugene Meley; J. Megan Meley; Jacqulyn "Lyn" (Tony) Troyer and Joy Meley (Steven Deeg), all of Lancaster. Seven grandchildren: Eleanor, Nicholas, Benjamin, Timothy, Sebastian, Spencer and Theodore. One brother: Patrick Meley, Mountville. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, Lawrence and William Meley.

Harry S. Habecker

Harry S. Habecker, 92, formerly of Manor Township, passed away at Calvary Homes on Thursday, September 18, 2025. He was the husband of the late Marilyn P. Habecker. Harry was born in Manor Township, son of the late Irvin G. and Susan H. Sensenig Habecker. He was a graduate of Lancaster Bible School, worked as a carpenter most of his life and was a member of Calvary Church. 

Surviving in addition to his two daughters: Lyril J. Haneman, (Edd Monskie), Lancaster and Lori J. (Rev. Timothy) McCracken, Fresno, CA. Three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as well as his two Lancaster based siblings: Chris S. (Janet ) Habecker and Mahlon S. (Sharyn) Habecker. He was preceded in death by one brother: Roy S. Habecker and one sister: Vera S. Keagy.

David W. Frick, 64, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at home. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Richard F. and Grace Oster Frick. David was a garage door installer who enjoyed his grandchildren and motorcycles. He also volunteered at the Columbia Food Bank and Dream Center.

He is survived by his son: Karl T. (Kira Ritter) Frick. His companion: Wendy L. Bailey. Two grandchildren: Athena and Bradley. One brother: Kevin Frick. Two sisters: Linda Kaylor and Penny Haines. One sister-in-law: Josette Frick. He was preceded in death by one son: David W. Frick, Jr.. One brother: Richard Frick and one sister: Joan Baldwin.

Dale L. Rohrer

Dale L. Rohrer, 78, of Mountville, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was the husband of Sandra L. Bailey Rohrer with whom they would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on November 22, 2025. Dale was born in Lancaster, son of the late Peter L. and Mary Jane Becker Rohrer. He was a truck driver for High Steel for 47 years before his retirement in 2017. Dale also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.

Lisa A. Wenditz

Lisa A. Wenditz, 70, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Donald L. and Joanna M. Baumbach Wenditz. Lisa was a graduate of Hempfield High School, Class of 1972; St. Luke’s School of Nursing, Class of 1980 and received her BSN from Millersville, Class of 1991.

Lisa began her career at the former Community Hospital of Lancaster and continued to work there until their closure in 1999. She then worked at the new Women’s Center in Lititz. Lisa was a maternal/child labor and delivery nurse and lactation consultant for 45 years, retiring in 2018. She loved her faith, books, puzzles and travel.

She is survived by two sisters: Nancy Hess (C. Fred) Lohss, Millersville and Donna (Richard) Bitterman, Strasburg. Niece: Becca Hess (Danielle Lowe), Falls Church, VA. Nephew: Joshua Hess, fiancé of Brianna Hornberger. Great nephew: Hudson Charles Hess, Millersville. Niece: Courtney Wenditz (Greg) Farabaugh, Thorndale. Great nephew: Noah. She was preceded in death by brothers: Doug and Lance Wenditz.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. The Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. when a Nightingale tribute ceremony conducted by the Lancaster County Nurse Honor Guard will be held.
